Re: Trumbauer, Horace (1868 - 1938)
At the Laurel Hall at risk web page there is the phrase, "Afterlife Address of Choice." That could be the title of a book.

Duchamp writes two letters to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. One is to Henri Marceau confirming that he has had the Achenbach painting in the huge gold frame [31.12.1952] sent "cash on delivery" as requested. To Fiske Kimball, who has received delivery of the "King and Queen" after their trip from California via his studio [16.11.1952], Duchamp writes: "I have signed the second painting on the back [Le Paradis] so that you could, if you wish to show it, mount it on a hinge."

1951. Sunday, New York City
After giving an account of his visit to Philadelphia the previous day and announcing Miss Dreier's intended bequest to the museum, Marcel has another piece of news for the Arensbergs.
"While in Paris, I tried to see my old friend Dr Dumouchel, but he does not live in Paris any more." After finding his address, Marcel wrote to him and Dumouchel has now replied agreeing to sell his portrait to the Arensbergs for $800 which, Marcel says, is his tentative price.
Stating that this canvas, and La Partie d'Echecs [1.10.1910]. which they has just bought from Walter Pach [24.6.1950]. are the two important paintings of 1910, Marcel writes: "The portrait is very colourful (red and green) and has a note of humour which indicates my future direction to abandon mere retinal painting."

Marcel replies belatedly to a letter from Pierre de Massot enquiring about the availability of reproductions for a book he is working on. With the recent gift of the Arensberg collection to Philadelphia [27.12.1950], Marcel tells de Massot, "we can photograph galore."
