And now Otto's thrilled to hear that both Duchamp and Jennewein will attend the Horace Trumbauer Architecture Fan Club Convention to deliver their jointy-authored paper, and Gordon's to present a moldy paper on mildew too.

Maria, the first wife of both Honorius and Otto, left for Milan 18 January for her father-in-law's 40 day lying in state. Ambrose, of course, breaks the silence 25 February, and then Theodosius and Helena will reenact the Theodosius Code.
Dr. Martin Luther King hangs out annually with Jim, Napoleon, Eutropia and Helena at St. Helena Island, S.C.; they play lots of card games. Their nick-name for Eva is 'Nacky', short for anachronism.

Replying by return to Walter's telegram requesting his opinion about Kahnweiler writing the introduction to the catalogue of the Arensberg Collection, Marcel says that he is not in favour. "Kahnweiler, in my opinion, is too much one sided," he explains. "Having discovered Cubism in Picasso, Braque, Gris, [he] never considered anything else as worthy of his attention." Marcel doesn't see how even from photographs he could do justice to the collection without having seen it. "I don't see anyone better than Soby," he states.

Duchamp is invited to the Museum Directors' Conference at the Philadelphia Museum of Art which is attended among others by Sir Philip Hendy of the National Gallery, London, and Francis Taylor of the Metropolitan Museum. When the president of the museum, Sturgis Ingersoll, introduces the speakers, he refers to the recent gift of the Arensberg Collection [27.12.1950] in terms of "great appreciation'. This was to have been the official public announcement of the gift, had the news not been scooped by the California press on 17 January.
After the conference Duchamp goes to a tea party given by Fiske Kimball [16.1.1951] and tell him of Miss Dreier's intention to give a number of works to the museum from her personal collection in addition to the Large Glass. Delighted with the news, Kimball agrees to visit Milford early in the Spring to discuss the donation with her.

Marcel breaks the news to Brancusi about the governments decision concerning the import duty, and reports on his meeting the previous day with Speiser, who has been instructed to fight the case. "In any case," Marcel says, "I advise you to wait before sending Mrs Rumsey's bird [12.12.1926] until the decision is taken concerning Steichen's bird."
Twelve crates of sculpture from Chicago [23.1.1927] have arrived safely in New York and are at Mrs Rumsey's. To economize on the cost of the return transport to Europe, Marcel will also see if he can persuade Brummer, Mrs Rumsey and Miss Dreier to each keep one or two pieces of sculpture.
