collecting ideas - Rita Novel
Otto and Frederich (the first King of Prussia) meet at King of Prussia Mall 18 january, and then visit some spots in Germantown (Clivden, Dreshler, Stenton), and then Independence Historic national Park--the King of Prussia marble tour. I suppose Lemon Hill is also on the tour. Do they meet Washington and Martha? General Howe? Perhaps they have dinner at Rococo (which I think is in a Trumbauer design, although I don’t recall putting it on the list). Maria is with Otto and Frederick most of the day, but leaves for Milan before the day is over.
This whole day is right now the beginning of the novel, and it is through the dialogue and stories of the places visited that the story begins to take shape.
I think Frederick died 25 February, so he is (probably) at Milan then as well--he has been there every 25 February since the time of his death.
While Maria is at Milan during the lying in state, she sends Otto a letter everyday. These letters are composites of the letters/emails I've sent on the very same days since 1998. Maria's letters are not necessarily written for replies, rather more pictures of her stream of consciousness. These letters make up the next section of the book, and are meant to keep the interest of the reader growing, but they don't exactly let the reader know where the overall story is heading.
Who is the gang at König Ludwig Lauf? I haven't thought this through yet. Is it everyone except Helena and Otto? Is Franciska there, or is she bicycling since 8 December (or 1 January?). The whole novel really could begin with Franziska leaving Yugoslavia for Russia on 1 January. Does this mean the novel ends with a Convention Ball 31 December at Lynnewood Hall? It just might.
The HTAFC convention may just occur from Thanksgiving Day to 31 December, with Trumbauer's speech on the feast of the Holy Innocents(?).
There are 150 paintings by Rubens at the Alte Pinakothek at München.
The goings-on at the König Ludwig Lauf are related by what Ludwig writes on his postcards. Like I already noted, I don't know what the Lauf weekend is all about except that coincidence my be the most prominent feature to come out of the event.
I did not expect "My Rita Novel Idea” to be the second schizophrenia + architectures, but that's just what it is--kind of uncanny. Does this mean that I should do a chronology of s+a and possibly even use the progression of gallery 1999 as inspirational fodder? The answer now is maybe so.
Otto and Piranesi have been working on Bottomopolis of Ottopia since 6 January.
On 25 February Ambrose says that the Helena chapel at Santa Croce is only open to women on 20 March because it was (mostly) only women that were witness to Christ’s death and resurrection.
Sts. Peter and Paul are the real proof of Christ's existence.
There was the idea that Jim Williams, this year at the König Ludwig Lauf, had memorized Gravity's Rainbow, and this is a way to introduce passages which Jim slightly alters to make it all non copyright infringement.
Eva decided the ball is themed "Korean American Religious Tax Evasion".
Does the novel end with Jim saying that his New Year’s resolution is the same every year, i.e., "to piss off the right people?"
The reenactment of the Widener collection at Lynnewood.
Dr. King comes to Philadelphia and the Liberty Bell every Freedom Day, 1 February, since he was the first in the tradition of having someone famous ring the Liberty Bell that day.
