Duchamp painted two paintings in Munich

This is, I believe, the first time images of Duchamp's Le Passage de la Vierge à la Mariée/The Passage from Virgin to Bride and Mariée/Bride are presented along side the Master of the Tegernsee Passion's Crucifixion. Duchamp painted The Passage from Virgin to Bride and Bride while in Munich July-August 1912 and August 1912 respectively. The Master of the Tegernsee Passion's Crucifixion hangs in the Alte Pinakothek, Munich, the museum which Duchamp, while staying in Munich the summer of 1912, claims to have visited daily.

Plus, there are several other paintings within the Alte Pinakothek which, I believe, Duchamp also looked at (and remembered) carefully, for example . . .

Hans Baldung   Nativity   1545

. . . and Hans Baldung's Prudence and Music, Lucas Cranach the Elder's Lucretia, Lucas Cranach the Younger's Venus and Cupid, Jan Gossaert's Danae, Peter Paul Ruben's Rape of the Daughters of Leucippus, Anthony van Dyck's Disposition, Tintorino's Venus, Vulcan and Mars.

Lost ! Need help!!
The last time I was out front keeping Chelsea company, she noticed I have symmetrical diagonal lines on my forehead just above my eyes. I explained to her that the one on the right is a scar from when I was in third grade myself--I fell on the edge of the coffee table and had to get 10 stitches. And the line on the left side is not a scar, and was not there when I was in third grade, but rather somehow came later all on its own. It's like my own corporal mirrored reenactment of the actual scar.

Re: quaestio abstrusa
I found the phrase in the English to Latin section of a pocket Latin/English dictionary. I was looking up the Latin word for puzzle and 'quaestio abstrusa' was the first entry. I wanted to verify the meaning by then looking up 'quaestio abstrusa' in the Latin to English section but the phrase was not listed, nor was the phrase in the large 1904 Latin to English dictionary I occasionally use.
Anyway, I very much like your translation--'a difficult quest' is indeed the nature of any worthwhile puzzle.

1963. Thursday, New York City
Inviting Bill Camfield to see him on 3 April, Duchamp gives him his telephone number, ALgonquin 4-8692, in case he should want to change the date. [My telephone number, in 1963, was GLadstone 5-6927, which remained my number till 20 October 2006.]
