At the Sidney Janis Gallery, 15 East 57th Street, an exhibition opens entitled "Brancusi to Duchamp". Henri Pierre Roché has lent two pictures by Duchamp for the show: Femme nue assise dans un tub and Portrait de Chauvel [2.12.1949], both of which belonged to the group of early paintings found by Jacques Villon at Puteaux [14.11.1949].
