For the French edition of Arturo Schwarz's book L'Œuvre complète de Marcel Duchamp to be published by Georges Fall, Duchamp suggests to the author an item for a number of "de luxe" copies. "I have thought of making an anaglyph (red and green) [6.8.1960] apropos of a Spanish chimney...[15.8.1968]. This hand-made anaglyph (like Stéréoscopic à la Main [4.4.1919]) should produce a three-dimensional effect when viewed through a pair of spectacles with green and red coloured filters. How many copies do you need," asks Duchamp. "For a small number I could make the entire edition by hand (originals) but for a large number I will have my original printed..."
