I was born 20 March 1956, and my brother Otto was in a very bad automobile (under a truck on the expressway) accident 20 March 1980.
Napoleon II was born 20 March 1811.

Dennis Cardinal Dougherty was born 16 August 1865--the feast of St. Stephen of Hungary (according to some traditions). I just joined the late antiquity list. I am an architect and among other things presently doing much research/writing regarding Flavia Julia Helena Augusta (St. Helena) and her imperial relations (the Constantinian dynasty). I intend to post inquires as well as hypothesis, of course all in the hope for good scholarly exchange. Before I begin however, I'm wondering if there is an archive of LT-ANTIQ and, if so, what its URL is. I'd like to review whatever past posts may involve the same period and personalities I'm interested in.

...at Columbia University. I would have liked to split up except I had no watch. ...would have spent the day around Cooper-Hewitt and the Met (maybe also Cooper Union). ...apprehensive about the Rome trip in general and what the next three weeks will be like specifically.
Yesterday was such a nice day because it was nothing. It flowed by without time.
...remember to never wait for the other. Just stay ahead or behind; close enough not to get lost and far enough to occupy space.

1958. Sunday, Cadaqués
With Galaand Salvador Dali, Teeny and Marcel make a boat tour of "all the most rugged part of the coast, almost as far as the French border".
Also when Robert Descharnes is in Cadaqués, he photographs the meeting one day of Duchamp and Dali at Meliton's [2.8.1958]. He follows their promenade behind the church and in the streets of Cadaqués, and also photographs the Duchamps' visit with the Monniers to the Corral de Gala: at the entrance, behind Dali posing on the steps, are Teeny, Jackie, Gala, Bernard, Marcel and Robert Descharnes' wife Michele.

1942. Monday, West Redding[/New York City]
In the morning Duchamp and Miss Dreier leave The Haven for New Haven, where they are invited to lunch by Dean Meeks of Yale University. It is Duchamp's first visit to Yale and although at the last moment the university's president, Seymour, is unable to stay for lunch (which is also attended by Dr Sizer and George Heard Hamilton), it is a great success in spite of Duchamp's tiredeness [sic].
When they visit" 5000 Years of Picture Making" at the Yale University Art Gallery, Duchamp, George Heard Hamilton, Dr Sizer and Miss Dreier are photographed for the New Haven Register standing in front of Miss Dreier's painting, Two Worlds, which is hanging in the exhibition.

Back at Hale House in the evening, Duchamp dines with the Ernsts, who have returned from Provincetown and after Max's brush with the FBI have decided to stay in New York for the summer after all [22.7.1942]. The other guests are Andre Breton and Frederick Kiesler.
