1927. Wednesday, Paris
With Marcel and Man Ray watching them from their table at the Cafe du Dome, Lydie dances with Kiki on the Boulevard Montparnasse with hundreds of others, starting to celebrate the storming of the Bastille in the traditional way.

Startled by Florine's incredible news [27.6.1927], Henry McBride has replied: "Why didn't he then, since he likes 'em fat, marry Katherine Dreier? But Charles [Demuth] tells me the new one is rich, too. So perhaps it's all for the best."
Florine however is still haunted by the marriage of Duche and writes again to McBride: "He had a church wedding. Six bridesmaids in white muslin, pink sashes, pink picture hats. Two little Kate Greenaway girls. Two little Eton-jacketed boys. The Bride in silver cloth. I think," Florine says critically, "she should have worn a wedding gown of near glass with a near (or real?) wire trimming--spiral design. However," she sighs, "so few do the appropriate thing."
